Well, that much is done. His cath went really well yesterday. The cardiologist found what they expected, which is great! A surprise is not something we wanted. The cardiologist was very pleased with how things went. He said that he is in great shape for having his surgery! His pressures were on the high end of normal, but still in the normal range.
Poor Alex was so hungry afterwards. As they were rolling him out of the cath lab, they were holding a bottle for him to eat. He ate 16 oz of formula within about 4 hours time. I think he was worried about when he would get another bottle, so he was just chugging away! We didn't get home until 1045 pm, so it was an extremely long day! Thanks, Hamma for taking care of Sam on such short notice! Aren't Grandmas great?! My boys are so blessed to have such WONDERFUL Grandparents! Thank you!
Alex slept all night. He was exhausted, poor thing! He seems to be doing well this morning. I am about to go remove his big pressure bandage, so I'm sure he won't be happy with me!
So, surgery will go as planned on Wednesday. I had them do all of his pre-op work yesterday, so that I wouldn't have to drag him back up there again today. All of his bloodwork came back normal, and things look good. We have to be there @ 6:30 am, and surgery will start at 8:00. I am sure that it will take most of the day, at least until 2:00 pm, so we will post as we can throughout the day to keep you guys updated.
I cannot express how grateful I am to all of you for your continued prayers. I know I've said it before, but they work! Our loving Heavenly Father hears and answers prayers. We can feel of your love and gain such strength through your prayers. Our Heavenly Father is truly a merciful being. He knows and loves each one of us! As I sat and watched Alex stare at the ceiling and talk last night, I knew that he wasn't really staring at the ceiling. I know that Heavenly Father sends his ministering angels to bless and comfort us! He truly lives and loves us. I could never, ever deny that! We have been so blessed as a family, and we are so grateful to each of you for your continued concern and many offered prayers! Thank you!!
