We've decided that it's finally time to start doing allowance for Sam. He has always had to help out with things around the house, but we haven't called them "chores", and haven't given him allowance for them. We really wanted to start teaching the tithing concept to him, and since a 4 year old doesn't have a steady income, that's where we come in. The thing is, is that I don't have a clue what to pay a kid for allowance. He'd probably be happy with 50 cents a week. We are wanting to keep it low since he doesn't know the difference, but I'm curious what others are paying their kids (if you're willing to share). Any input would be appreciated!

No clue what people pay kids! We are sort of interested in doing allowance too, and just aren't sure where to start. I have some relatives that have done some pretty creative things with their kids. I'll let you know more about it after we see them at a family party next week!
we pay our kids every other week (just like dave gets paid) and they get their age each pay period. (so justin gets $7 every two weeks while nicole gets $4...and after tithing and putting half into savings the spending money stays reasonably low) I don't know how that compares to "the norm" (if there is such a thing) but there you have our two cents (pun intended). good luck!!
