He weighed in at 15 lbs. 6 oz. and 26 in. long. The cardiologist was again pleased with his progress. The surgery is still planned for Nov. 4th as long as his blood work on Nov. 3rd comes back good and he is free from any sickness.
So, here we go. I will try to explain this so that it is understandable. It confuses me until I have time to sit and re-hash it in my mind. His cardiologist said the he still has more blood flow to his lungs than they like to see. He should have oxygen saturations between 80-85%, and he is usually 85-92%. So really by now most kids have a bluish coloring to them, luckily (for our eyes) Alex doesn't. The only problem with his increased blood flow to his lungs is that it might make it more difficult to treat him post-operatively, leading to a longer hospital stay. He has increased his diuretics to hopefully remove enough fluid before surgery to help this out. The cardiologist will talk with the surgeon this week to discuss if they want to do a cardiac catheterization prior to surgery to get an accurate pressure reading (how much blood flow) in his pulmonary arteries. That way they will have a baseline before surgery. The cardiac cath would be just a same day in and out kind of thing, but still sedating and doing a procedure on him.
So right now we are just waiting to hear from the hospital if we are going to do this. We really hope we won't have to for Alex's sake, but we want the very best for him. We feel very confident with our doctors and their decision making, so at this point, that is what we have to go on.
We can't thank each of you enough for your continued prayers and support. It means so much to us. We know that Heavenly Father will continue to bless Alex. He has been so merciful and poured out his blessings unto Alex and our family. Your prayers have blessed us in so many ways and we are so grateful to each of you for taking the time to think of and pray for our family.

I am glad that it went well. I was thinking about you guys today. Hope everthing continues to go well. Cute pictures below as well.
We're glad to hear things are going well so far. We will continue to keep Alex and your family in our prayers!
I'm glad things for the most part have gone well with Alex and his appointment. Brinley had a sedated echocardiogram and catheterization prior to surgery before her glenn. She also fights the medication and requires more then the normal heart kids, but we always thought that was the fight in her! After the procedure they quietly took her into surgery. Everything went well, these little heart kids are so amazing. Our thoughts and prayers will be with your family as Alex enters his next repair.
Hugs,
Mike
Best of luck to little Alex. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I hope everything continues to go well for you guys, what a tough little guy! You will be in our prayers too!
We are so glad things are going well. Our prayers are always with you guys. Thanks for having Austin over the other day to play with Sam in the sand. He still is talking about it. :)
I am glad that the sedated echo went well. He looks so comfortable all sacked out. I hope that he can stay well so things can go on schedule, have the surgery, recover and get out of the hospital back to his wonderful home.
It seems like I got a little behind in your posts, but Horray for the fence (something I am still wishing for) and I can only image how much fun Sam is having in the sandbox and how much sand you are having to take back out of the house :0)
Heart Hugs,
Carolyn
Our prayers are with Alex as well and your family that you guys will make it through with flying colors too. We know what doesn't kill us just makes us stronger and we couldn't hope for much better than that. All the best
Chrystal, Pete and the kids.
