Bad hair day!

We decided that it was time for a haircut after this first picture!

New Alex Pics

Thought we should let people know that we still exist! Besides a little stomach bug, Alex has been doing great! Notice that he is getting a dimple in his elbow and some chunky thighs! Well not too chunky, but for him, they look great!

Sharing........

But not too sure about it! It's not easy for a guy to share one of his most prized possessions! As long as we don't take the boots to put on Alex too, I think we'll be okay!

Still a little bit too big!

Cute as can be!

8 Week Check-Up

Alex had his 8 week check-up today. He is doing great as far as his ped is concerned, so it's always nice to have another doc pleased with his progress! He is 10 lbs 10 oz and 24 in long (up 3 lbs & 3 1/2 in from birth). He is growing really well. Everything looked good on his exam and went well until the 3 shots! Unfortunately they all have to get them.
We are so pleased with how well Alex is doing! We know it's all thanks to your prayers in his behalf. Thanks to all of you!

Ever Feel Like This?

A Major Milestone!!!

I am almost scared to post this, afraid that we will be jinxed, but here goes: Alex slept all night long!! What a momentous occasion! We hope that this is the first of many long sleep filled nights. Eight straight hours of sleep sure makes you feel like you will actually survive a newborn (as anyone with kids know). We hope to be able keep this habit going, though the next surgery will probably screw that up. Oh well, if the habit is in place hopefully it will be easier to get back into it. Happy sleeping!

All this celebrating will wear you out!

Alex was worn out after a long day of birthday parties. If you look close you can almost see thigh rolls (on Alex). Hard to tell here, but Alex has lost all of his hair on the top. All he has is old man fringe around the edge and peach fuzz on top.

Hard days work

Shooting Elmo is not an easy job. Who do you think won?

Draw!!

Sam's determined to shoot that darn Elmo, but it just doesn't seem fair to have all those sprayers coming at you.

Long Time, No Post

Considering how long it's been since our last post we thought we should update. Alex is growing really well. He is almost ten pounds and is getting long. We have a check up this week so we will get better measurements. He is working on sleeping through the night. He is up to about six hours, we'll take any extra time we can get. He is really starting to play more. He likes to talk to his toys and if the mood catches him just right he will even smile. Sam is the best big brother. He loves Alex. He is always wanting to help and loves to play with Alex. He is ready for Alex to be bigger so that he can play a little more.
We had a fun Fourth of July. We took both boys to the parade in the morning. Sam's favorite part was snatching all the candy. We went swimming after that at Grandma and Grandpa's house with his cousins. Then we got ready to go to fireworks. Sam and Dad went to watch the fireworks at Lagoon that night. We decided Alex wouldn't appreciate them as much so he stayed home with mom.
We have had a good summer so far. Sam has loved playing on his slip and slide and his little pool. Super soakers are also lots of fun.

Here Alex, Let me show you how it's done!

Sam has such a great time playing with Alex, even though it's only for about 5 minutes before Alex has had enough. He's such a great big brother!

Two Handsome Boys!

Playtime for Alex

Beating the Heat!

Sam and his buddy Austin spent about 4 hours out playing in the water on Saturday. When it's this hot, you gotta do what you can to keep cool! Thanks for coming to play Austin!

Update............finally!

I guess I never realized how many people read our blog until you don't update and then everyone is wondering! In this case, no news was good news! Alex's check-up went great. He was able to get off of one of his meds, unfortunately for him, it was the only one that tasted good! His other two meds give him bitter beer face when he takes them! He is up to almost 9 lbs, which may not seem like a lot, but for a heart baby, that is great! We'll take extra weight anywhere we can get it (for Alex that is)! His oxygen saturation is right where it should be. His color is good and he is a very content baby with the exception of some colic in the evening. He does not need to be seen by cardiology until August 4th for another check-up!!! We are so blessed! His life is such a miracle. All of the very little things add up to such big things for him, and that is very evident in his life! We know that your prayers make such a difference to him and to us as a family! We know that we say it all the time, but we want each of you to know how much we appreciate your prayers! We know that they make all the difference.... just look at our family!

BBQ @ Hammas House

Alex finally made it to some family parties this weekend and got to meet some of his family he hasn't even seen yet. What a blessing! We had a great time with BBQ, football and games!
